Uttlesford Council Recycling
Uttlesford operates a three wheelie bin system:
- The brown bin is primarily for food leftovers, which are composted.
- The green bin is for dry recycling, including aluminium and steel cans, foil, card paper and plastic. These items are sorted and sent for recycling.
- The black bin is for items which cannot be recycled and these are taken to landfill.
The brown bin is emptied weekly and the other two bins are emptied on alternate weeks. Collection day for Chrishall is currently Friday.

Garden waste is also collected from April to November, on Saturdays between 10.20 and 11.20am. Collections are made on alternate weeks from Pinkeneys, Crawley End and from near the Red Cow Public House. Click here for details.
