Village Hall

The purchase of the premises by Chrishall Parish Council was completed on Friday June 27th 2014.

A celebratory event was held on Sunday 6th July at which comments were invited on the proposals for updating the venue.

The chapel and hall are now functioning as the new village hall and the address is:

Village Hall
Crawley End

The running of the former Methodist Chapel and Hall has become the responsibility of the Village Hall Committee, with Chrishall Parish Council taking over responsibility for the former village hall adjacent to the School.

The village Hall committee now provide their own web site: Village Hall Village Hall website which provides an on-line booking facility.

For those without on-line access the booking secretary can be reached on: 01763 838691

The Village Hall Committee has applied successfully for a premises licence for the new village hall.

Approval was received in early May 2013 for loan funding to enable the village to negotiate the purchase of Chrishall Methodist Chapel and Hall.

The loan application was made by Chrishall Parish Council to the Public Works Loan Board following a survey of villagers during February 2013 to seek approval for the Parish Council's proposal to negotiate the purchase.

Following discussions with the local Methodists and their agents, an offer to purchase the Chapel and the Hall, subject to contract, was submitted by Chrishall Parish Council at the beginning of February 2014. Assumption of responsibility for maintenance of the burial ground via a long lease was included in the offer.
