COVID-19

CHRISHALL PARISH COUNCIL
A MESSAGE FROM CHRISHALL PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, JANE HOLLOWAY

All,
It is with absolutely no pleasure at all that we have to announce the IMMEDIATE CLOSURE of the Children's Play Area.
Whilst this is disappointing for our families, we must do what is being required of us. It must be adhered to and it must last for as long as necessary.

We will review, in consultation with local and national government, the use of Jigneys Meadow, but I hope we can keep it open as long as everyone adheres to the latest guidance:

You should only leave the house for one of four reasons:
1.Shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible.
2.One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your immediate household.
3.Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
4. Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.

These four reasons are exceptions - even when doing these activities, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your immediate household. You must wash your hands for at least 20 seconds and as frequently as possible, especially before and after eating, and keep your hands away from your face.

These measures must be followed by everyone. Separate advice is available for individuals or households who are isolating, and for the most vulnerable who need to be shielded.

By doing this, we very well might be saving the lives of dozens of local people, your friends and family alike, by slowing down the rate of spread of infection and giving the NHS a chance to save as many lives as possible. We may have very few cases in the village and surrounding area so far, but let's work together to keep it that way…
Thank you for your incredible levels of understanding, patience and generosity to others so far.
Please keep yourself and others safe and sound

With best regards
Jane Holloway
